PLAGIARISM IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

morning/afternoon ladies and gentlemen, hello..
First
of all I would like to say thank you to all of you who came to this meeting for
hearing my speech, Today, here I want to give a speech about plagiarism in
scientific research, but I would like to share my experience first.. on the
first time I attending to class with course “Public Speaking” I was very
excited, because I thought I would learn all about public speaking, like how to
speak in front of many people, how to avoid nerveous.. stress while we are talk
in front of many audience.. but I’m not that lucky, I mean I’m more luckiest
than it, in that course we (the students) also gets the specific topic which is
Plagiarism.
“Plagiarism is defined as the borrowing of
ideas, opinions, examples, key words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs, or even
structure from another person 's work, including work written or produced by
others without proper acknowledgment.” - The definiton of plagiarism is taken

On this smester we also get one of big project as an college student which is
making “Scientific Research” I think by that project is the reasons why we need
to learn about Public Speaking and also with the specific subject which is
plagiarism, by this class we can know the hacks to speak in front of many
audience with our original ideas.
We
all know that nowadays technology has increased so fast, we can search
everything by the internet, we can watch so many video by youtube, looking for
some information or even learning. By this easy access, we also can easily
copying some idea from it. plagiarism becoming something which usually happen everywhere-everytime,
for me maybe it’s happen because they careless of their mistakes they don’t
know if seeing someone style and following the style, copying others writing without
citation, taking someone’s ideas as our own, paraphrasing from multiple sources
and making it fit together, giving in correct information about the source of
quotation it’s all of course called plagiarism.
Of
course it is harm full and will make an negative impact in daily life. There are
so many excuse that people use especially the student to do some copy and paste
activity while doing some tasks, lazyness.. is the first causes, student have
no excitement to do some taks they didn’t want to read an article or even
understand it, students had to much waste their time to do some leisure time, and
the consequences is they must do their assigments one night before deadline in
a hurry, so many students nowadays doing some assignments without thinking
about “is the assigmen’t I’m doing important?” they only had to focused on their
goals “to get a good score” “my parents
must be so proud of me” without thinking about the originality of their works. these
has become a common in every Indonesian students start from the elementary
school until college student.
Now
we have to thinking about “How?” yeah.. think about how to avoid plagiarism? Or
before we going to talk about ways to avoid plagiarism, I think first we need
to talk about how to kill lazyness in our self.. the first tips that really can
heal this problem is we need to distance our self from gadget, yeah sure gadget..
especially our smartphone is the very toxic thing that make ourself had no time
to be the productive human, is like our smartphone had the voice that always
call us to keep on touch with it.. play it once, twice.. and two hours
latters.. if always like this, when we will have a time to do some productive
thing -_- we will always as lazy as the panda
That’s
the point, kill the lazyness in yourself..
distance yourself with your own smartphone. Now we focused on my tips to
avoid plagiarism, change your self to be a diligent person collect all the
spirits to learn, I mean do something which can increase your knowledge like
meet a new person with a positive vibes that can bring you gets to know something
that you don’t know before, that can make you developing some critical thoughts
because of that you will try to find the conclusion and you get to share whaat
you know. Do it, repeat until it becomes your habit and your knowledge’s
increased.
It’s
fun right to can get to know something new with our own effort, with this new
habit I believe we all can avoid plagiarism when doing some taks, some activity
etc.. being a student who’s doing plagiarism also will get the disadvantages, either
from their school or university some had to back home because drop out, some
get a serious warning and moreover be alienated of their title. I know all of
us didn’t want this bad luck goes to us that is why I really wish you all had
an original creation wether its not good enough at least it is your own
creation, be proud with that. So you wil live full of happiness and knowledge
because you doing it with your own thought.
Don’t
be afraid to face the failure because of your own creation, be proud of it and
start to think I can without copying others, mine more awesome. So yeah, don’t forget
to stop plagiarism!! its start from your self and others will follow.. not
follow your thought I mean.. they will follow your ways to not doing plagiarism
anymore. And you all becoming pioneer its awesome..
So
yeah, by my speech today I know I also doing so many mistakes either my speech
is boring, too much repeated words or maybe too much to talk. I do apologize to
all of you.. thankyou for your time, your excitements to read or listen to my
speech, your spirits that made me standing here, your attention also.. without
your attendance my speech today means nothing so thank you so much for
everything you all my audience are awesome. STOP PLAGIARISM!
